I was going to post this later on when my Commander was finished but since i got the question asked i'm posting this now.

Anyways... i have yet come across a glue that is able to glue metal to plastic to any satisfactory degree. And the Commander disc being made out of aluminium... well you get my drift. So this is how i did it.

First i took the disc and placed in a vice.

i then used a special tool/drill that is used to make threads. I don't know what it's called in english but i hope that from the picture you'll be able to tell what it is.

So i quite simply twisted/drilled the inside of the command disk with it and voilá...

instant threads...

Then it was just a matter of placing the Command Disk, drill the whole and attach the command disk with a small bolt.

The bolt is hardly noticeable from the front...

And must really be viewed from the side to be seen..

Even so i'm thinking of painting the bolts white to make them harder to spot.

Cool tip!

The tool in question is called a "tap" or a "thread tapper". Sears or any big hardware store sells them and you would only need to match up the thread size and diameter to the screw you plan on using.

So that's what they are called... anyway. I found that the M4 size fitted perfect in the hole of the command disk.

Maybe just touch up the screw with some white paint to have it be not as noticeable. Cool

I took Patrik's idea and used on my Snow Commander. I found some screw covers. Looks ok. I might try some nylon screws. I found them in white so they should blend in a lot better. Here are a few pictures.

Andreas, sorry about that. I saw the name and thought it was you. I thought it was a really great idea. I think the nylon screws will work a lot nicer. I am waiting on some new disks. I messed mine up this go round.
