G'day from Sunny Australia!
Hey Troopers!
Rebelrach here, ironcially from a very hot place but working on becoming a snowie! And I'm a girl! Hee hee!!
Bought myself a 2nd hand Snowie (never trooped in), complete, that needs lots of repair, a repaint and new decals. Super excited for this project, my first armour.
Have loved the iconic, slightly mysterious Snowie since I saw ESB as a kid!
I belong to the Redbacks in Queensland, Australia, a great group that really helps each other out. We have a few snowies already but its definately not a common character.
Great to be here on Blizzard forums, hope to get some pointers, tips and share the thrills and chills on the road to being a snowie!
Cheers
Rach

Welcome! Don't worry, I'm from south florida...the heat and humidity doesn't help out but I'm used to it. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance while you undergo your costume overhaul!

I thought we had standards here I guess they'll let anyone in JK
Its a great detachment here Rach, fingers crossed you're done in time, and can make it to the planned snow trip later on in the year.

You've picked the best movie out of the lot of them and the coolest imperial costume around

Re: G'day from Sunny Australia!
Hey Blizzard Force folks!
Well she's been a year in the making (and 9 months of that in a box) but my snowie is nearly done.
She was bought 3rd hand, and in a real state.
Whomever had started to assemble her make a lot of mistakes and obviously given up. I was lucky that I had a lot of offer of help to sand back, cut, bog, repair and weather the original armour. We knew she'd have to be pretty weathered as she couldn't be a shiny whitey....
Big learning curve for me, my first armour costume, but I am really happy. A few things left to mod, including adding lights on the chest armour and after this pic below was taken we shortened the shoulder straps so my backpack came up higher on my back and didn't touch my thermal detonator. Had to add all new webbing and sew it all, add all the rivets and Chicago screws.
So here she is nearly read to submit pics do realise my pockets are the wrong way around and my ab piece is a bit off centre).
Would appreciate some feedback or constructive comments if you have time. Cheers, Rach
